About KIWI

I started KIWI with a simple idea: a new business should start with a name it can keep, a company that is set up right, and not legal surprises that cost more to fix later.

About Me

I am a North Carolina attorney. I earned my law degree at Wake Forest University School of Law, where I focused on taxation, banking, and regulatory compliance.

Most of my career has been spent helping businesses meet the rules that apply to them: at large financial institutions, as an attorney advisor with the federal government, and at major technology and fintech companies. Today I also advise small and mid-sized businesses on compliance.

Business owners do not need a lecture on regulation. They need it done right, explained plainly, at a price they know up front. That is what KIWI is for.

My Principles

Knowledge

I have spent my career helping businesses meet the rules that apply to them. That knowledge goes into your name and your company from the first step.

Impact

Your name is what customers remember. A clearance search finds the risks before it goes on your signs, packaging, and website, so you can weigh the risks before you build on the name.

Wisdom

For most of my career, I have been the last set of eyes before critical decisions became final. Your filing and formation documents get that same final review, because the details matter.

Innovation

I have built compliance programs and led regulatory strategy at companies from fintech startups to the Fortune 500, so I know what a new business needs to get right early. Your business starts with organized records that banks commonly ask to see and a clear list of what to file and when.

What I believe

The best time to protect a name is before you fall in love with it.

Changing a name after launch means new signs, new packaging, and lost recognition. Getting the name and the company right at the start is simpler, and my job is to make it simple.
